Birmingham's skyline is in full view from Railroad Park, the downtown area's award-winning, urban park. Tom Leader, the project's primary landscape architect, focused on creating a unique, elevated platform for viewing the city's rail line.  Without a natural riverway to border the park, a series of ponds and small streams where also incorporated into the design. One of the ponds creates a great reflection of the city's skyline.

A lot of exercise options have been introduced into Railroad Park, along with restrooms, vending machines, group seating and a convenient snack bar.  From skateboarding to yoga, just about every type of fitness activity is welcome.

With Railroad Park and the new Baron's baseball stadium that borders it, many can see the City of Birmingham is improving.
